Study Music: Groove Salad
Sunday, December 10, 2006 by
Kelly Sutton For those of us not as lucky to get a Reading Week like Rosario described, it's mission critical for cramming. The last thing I want to worry about is what iTunes shuffle brings up.
For extended study sessions, I listen to soma fm's Groove Salad station. Soma fm describes the station as "a nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves." Basically, it's the best study music in the world.
So tune in and keep it on in the background to keep yourself from going crazy.

[...] Study Music: Groove Salad [HackCollege] [...]
[...] Just in time for finals week, the HackCollege blog recommends studying to a continuous ambient music stream from SomaFM called Groove Salad. If you can’t stand the drop-dead silence of the library but also can’t concentrate with lyrics, ambient music’s the ticket. Groove Salad, “a nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves,” will stream directly to your music player for free. Been tapping keys to it myself as I rewrite the Lifehacker book. Here are more good study music suggestions from readers. Groove Salad[SomaFM via HackCollege] [...]
I've been listening to Groove Salad for about 3 years now. Love it.
As a student with ADHD, I already have a hard time staying focused when I sit down to study, so popping in the headphones and grooving away has helped me immensely.
There are rarely lyrics in these songs, so that helps to make the music blend into the background. Also, nobody tends to bother you when you have headphones on.
Great site...count me in as your newest subscriber.
I myself listen to Groove salad once in a while. Not when I am studying, I try to avoid listening to music while reading or studying.
