Introducing: Blackboard Week

Kelly Sutton It's not often you get to dedicate an entire week's worth of content to a piece of software.
HackCollege is getting to the point now where big companies are starting to care about what we have to say. Last week, Rob Fay from Blackboard got in touch with us and left a comment on a heated Blackboard post. It takes some big cojones to address someone critical of you on their own turf. Props to that. Seeing as how the topic of Blackboard and its shortcomings resonates with the student audience well, we've decided to dedicate an entire week to it.
Rather than just rant until our fingers bleed, we are going to dedicate the next week of posts to Blackboard and what it can do better the next time around (if there is a next time around). We like to think we have some pretty good ideas when it comes to Web applications for students. We're also inviting you, our trusted readers, to be critical of our ideas. Maybe together we can help Blackboard dig itself out of the hole it's in.
Tune in next week for HackCollege's Blackboard Week, where we will be fixing Blackboard one post at a time.

I would like to see in back board if how many posts i have in a discussion topic. I have many classed where i need to post something and reply to two others. I do my work early and most of the time there are not enough posts to reply to. Well by the end of the week I have forgot if i have done my posts or not. Also Black Board messages need to me <u>WAY<u> more accessible. Currently you need to click through 3 (i think) links just to see if there are any messages. I would like to see a message notification on the main page for all classes. It also needs less maintenance. Every few weeks my schools BB goes down due to upgrades and maintenance. Also a easier way to get rid of old classes. Like an X next to the list of classes. Also I would like to see a way for me to organize my grades by name, or grade, ect.
That is just for starters.
The home - It's just common sense that air conditioners are essential in providing the adequate ventilation that makes a home comfortable enough to live in, and play in. By installing this type of unit on your residential property, you and your loved ones can can enjoy the summer months in a wonderfully controlled climate - which is also cost-controlled, as well. And one of the things that makes those hot summer days cooler, is the feeling of living in a perfect paradise, while you are still saving money!
However, if you put in an adequate air conditioner ventilation system that runs throughout your salon, you may be able to give your tanning clients the most relaxing experience of their lives, while saving yourself a few bucks at the same time.
The office - Most people know that sharing the office air with everyone else can lead to passing on colds, and might even lead to someone developing allergies from dust and debris in the air, as well. It also makes the work environment unpleasant in general - giving it a "crowded" and "stuffy" feeling. But with a good ventilation system running throughout the building, the health - as well as the work production - of your employees might suddenly take a drastic turn for the better, as well as bring you some savings on your electricity bill.
